Hello everyone.
When I was 15 years old, I had a major skin problem. I have massive acne problem (well it seems normal as a teenage lady). I usually walk back home from school thus leads to the darkening of my skin badly due to excessive exposure to sun rays. Furthermore, I have never been introduced to sunblock and beauty regime to add on this matter (yes I used to be a noob at this). I tried from Olay to Clean & Clear to L'oreal to Oxy, you tell me. And none of them really improve my acne prone skin until my mom and I were introduced to this product, Yves Rocher Sebo Specific Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser.
I took this picture from Yves Rocher website |
I'm sorry I have to take the picture from the internet because I finished the bottle and accidentally threw it away. I used countless of bottles of this product and I tell you, it works wonder! The texture of this cleanser is gel like and you can even see the micro particles. It lathers well and I only use pea size of it. It can lasts for more than a month, usage of twice a day. The scent is still acceptable with the fact that I do not like strong fragrant in my skincare regime. The scent is rather fresh but nothing special on the scent. I bought this in Malaysia for approximately RM35 which is plus minus 10 USD for 150 ml. This is what they claimed on their website:
"With its special soft texture, Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser is the primary purifying gesture, so vital for oily and combination skins.
Combined with the Botanical Flavonoids Complex, its exfoliating microparticles:
- eliminate all traces of impurities
- gently clear the pores
Result: The skin breathes again, it is visibly healthy, clean and fresh.
The Plus: Its exfoliating micro-particles gently cleanse the epidermis."
Ingredients: Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Propylene Glycol, Urea, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Cocoyl Isothionate, Acrylates / C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Polyethylene, PEG-30 Glyceryl Laurate, Xanthan Gum, Parfum, Tetrasodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Allantoin, Sodium Hydroxide, Hexyl Cinnamal, Scutellaria Baicalensis Extract, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, CI 19140, CI 42090. Made in E.C.
I have been religiously use this cleanser (along with its mattifying toner and zero blemish pore refining care moisturizer of the same line) as it reduces my acne and it gives a slight glow on my skin. It does not claim to brighten skin but with the micro-particle in the cleanser, it actually cleansed my skin well. Aside from that, this cleanser controls my sebum and my combination to oily skin is balanced out. Since I used this before I go to school, by the time I reached home - which is on the evening, I found out that my excess sebum is not excessive but slightly oily, although it is still under control. Take into account that my school DOES NOT provide air conditioned classrooms. LOL Although during menstruation I do have one to two break outs, this cleanser helps to fasten the recovery. I decided to change my skincare regime when I reached my 20's. This is because my skin is no longer problematic that much and I am focusing on increasing the elasticity and the brightness of my skin. I gave my last bottle of this cleanser to my brother to use it and he was happy with the result too.
My rating:
Effectiveness: ★★★★☆ (since by the evening my skin started to get slightly oily)
Bottle: ★★★★☆ (the plastic bottle is green and I love green! But the lid is a normal screw lid where it can spill easily when I want to get it out)
Price: ★★★★☆ (since the result is in accordance to what it claims so I think it's worth the penny)
Long term effect: ★★★☆☆ (I think it is true that after years of using the same product, we have to temporarily change to other regime because our skin started to get immune to the product and it is no longer effective in long run)
Overall, I do recommend this line of Yves Rocher to those who has teenage skin problem like mine. But do take note that although it cleanses your pores it does not visibly helps in tightening your pores. The Mattifying Toner and Zero Blemish Pore Refining Care moisturizer I will review on my next posts. I hope this review helps!
Regards
