REVIEW: Hanaka Pores Reduce Facial Mask Charcoal

Hello everyone.

I felt like I abandoned this blog for quite sometime and I feel the necessity to post a review since I have plenty of time today. I talked about how my mask day routine where I will start by deep cleansing my pores with a charcoal mask. At first I didn't expect to be needing it in my mask routine until I actually decided to give it a go. And I never regret since. I bought Hanaka Pores Reduce Facial Mask Charcoal or some call it Hanaka Blackhead Pore White Mask from Taiwan. I know I know, the names are rather confusing. I was confused too at first. So I just use the name printed on the jar. I bought it online for RM49.90 of approximately 16 USD for 250g. At first I thought it looks like a normal small jar that often sold in the market but no. Its huge! I bet the 500g is much more bigger than this (Duhh?). You can put the jar on your palm and you can no longer see your palm except your fingers. LOL. Fyi, my hands are huge too to start with. Here are the photos.

I couldn't find the exact translated claims on the jar so I took the claims at nattacosme.com. Here are the claims:

• Charcoal ingredients nourish the skin
• Deep cleansing
• Tranexamic acid firming,whitening
• Good color shiny muscle

Product

The jar is black opaque plastic jar with super cute prints. The product is exactly like aloe vera gel consistency but black in color. Its not opaque black but transparent kind of black. It smells so refreshing and I don't have anything against the scent. Its citrus-y and not overpowering. The gel is sooo cooling and I love it. I actually used a lot of it every mask day because I love how it feels on my skin. I concentrate (put it thicker) on my T-zone area. It is best if you use spatula to take the product out from the jar but I don't have any so I'll make sure my hand is well clean before digging in. LOL. This is the product after 1 month usage, once a week with very thick usage. It is not even half done yet. A quarter done perhaps.

How I use it

I found out that all products that are meant for reducing pores have this slight tingly feeling especially around the mouth area but it is not painful. It lasts for few seconds. I left this mask for 45 minutes and I will use my charcoal sponge to remove it before rinsing it off with water. After leaving it for 45 minutes, the mask gets thicker and its not easy to remove it with just water. If I'm lazy, I'll just scrape it off with my fingers (not nails) and later I'll rinse it with water.

Effects

The first time I used this, I was super amazed with my skin. The first spot I scraped off is my nose and I was shocked that my nose looks so smooth. My pores were visibly reduced! I do have enlarged pores and bad blackheads/whiteheads to start with and I was so happy this mask works wonder. I never turned back since. My skin felt soooo soft and smooth immediately after rinsing and I do see that my skin tone gets a little bit brighter (though it is not that significant). I love it! Super super super love it! There is no cons about this product (or I couldn't find any on me) and it never break me out. The effect lasts for a week so to the reason why I use it only once a week. Some reviewers said that this mask helps to remove smaller blackheads and whiteheads and I couldn't agree more. The large ones are not easily remove especially on the nose area so if you have pore pack like biore pore pack or hanaka pore pack, then you can use it after removing this mask. It didn't dry my skin out and no flaky skin afterwards.

Price: ★★★★☆ (it is rather expensive for me as a student but it can lasts for 2 to 3 months so its worth every penny!)

Long term effect: ★★★★☆ (it lasts for a week or so and I am pretty happy with it)

Overall, I highly recommend this mask for those who have trouble with their pores especially clogged pores. Its like an all in one product; brightening, pores tightening, deep cleansing, hydrating. I couldn't find anything better than this for my mask day. Hope this review helps!
