REVIEW: Sana Nameraka Honpo Soy Milk Cream (Isoflavone)

Hello everyone!

This is actually my favorite night cream! I bought Sana Nameraka Honpo Soy Milk Cream few months back along with its milky lotion (light moisturizer) and skin lotion (toner). I must say, I don't like the light moisturizer and going so-so for the toner. I decided to discontinue using both but I can never get enough with it's cream! Bought it at SaSa for approximately RM49 of plus minus 15 USD for 50g. I am so sorry I just changed my phone and I couldn't find the pictures anymore thus the picture taken is from google. Here is the photo of it.

Product

I am sorry but I forgot to take pictures of swaps on the cream as I used it until the very last drop - considering that I am rather addicted with it. LOL. The cream is white in color but not to say its opaque white – it’s not transparent either. It’s very thick and the texture is almost like a sticky glue, only it’s little bit runnier. The scent is closed to none but the cream stays on top of the skin – which I find it rather disturbing but eventually I get used to it. It comes within a small opaque white tub with screw lid on top. It is not hygienic but I’ll ensure that my hands are well cleaned – using anti-bacterial soap to be precise – to maintain the cream’s freshness, plus I don’t like putting dirty fingers on my face. The box is unique and cute with written Japanese words all over the box – and yes, I pretend I understood every word. LOL.

How I use it

I only use this at night before bed due to the thickness feeling upon usage. After washing off my skin with my cleanser – not of the same brand as I’ve read many negative reviews on its cleanser – I dabbed on Sana’s toner (the colorless version as they have two types of toner). I prefer dabbing it on skin as it makes my skin feels fresher whilst promoting blood circulation – though some said that it’s a waste as blablabla percent of the toner will eventually absorbed by our palms. Nevertheless, I still prefer using my palms to dab on everything; creams, toner, cleanser, etc. because somehow dabbing my skin gently upon application makes me feels calm and it feels like a gentle massage as well. I often use this cream thicker than usual if I feel the need of extra repair due to a hectic day.

Effects

The first time I encountered this brand is from a popular vlogger and her skin is so flawless I decided to let myself influenced by her recommendations. LOL. I was searching for a good skincare regime as I decided to change it. My previous regime wasn’t as good as it claimed thus I decided to give this brand a go. I started off by purchasing the colorless toner – I seriously cannot recall the exact name as it’s rather confusing – and a light moisturizer, almost like a lotion texture. I didn’t excitedly used those immediately so I googled more about Sana and found this cream. I never regret purchasing the cream.

This cream is ah-mayyy-zingg! I’m not saying it’s miraculous, I’m just saying it’s my life-saver. Okay both words have the same point. LOL. When I had a bad day with bad skin, I just dabbed this thickly (but not 1cm thick please) on my skin before bed and my skin turns beautiful again the next morning. It goes on and on, day by day and I got addicted with it. I have a combination skin, dry and patchy U-zone with oily T-zone. It helps to prevent massive acne breakouts but I’m not saying there’s no acne at all. Just to call it average. I never had flaky skin on my U-zone since and I no longer need moisturizer during the day so to the discontinued usage of Sana’s light moisturizer.

The downturn about this cream is that it is not suitable to be used during the day – especially when you want to put on makeup as this cream creates a layer on skin that may not eases other cream/foundation to be absorbed by skin. It’s rather thick that if I used this cream during the day, my skin will turn oily easily along with the heat and sweat. So I decided to call it my night cream. Yeay. On the other hand, since it is not an organic cream, I found out that this cream may eventually clog pores and my blackheads or whiteheads are not at bay. Too bad I have to do mask routine twice a week to clean up my pores – and I iz lazyyy. LOL.

My ratings:

Effectiveness: ★★★★☆ (Love it. But only if it doesn't cause me blackheads and whiteheads)

Packaging: ★★★☆☆ (simple, cute but it doesn't fulfill my preferences)

Price: ★★★★☆ (it is a bit pricey from my opinion but very much worth the shot)

Long term effect: ★★★★☆ (I'd used this everyday since and it never disappoints me - except on the fact that it clog pores)

Overall, I do recommend this cream if you're not into organic stuff. It works wonder! It focuses on moisturizing the skin though those with skin like mine or oily skin, I do not suggest you to use this as your day cream. It heals acne and sunburns faster as well. I hope this review helps!

Regards
