REVIEW: Nutox Oxyfusion Skin Refining Astringent & Moisture Emulsion SPF 25++

Hello everyone.

I've been talking about Nutox's cleansers from my previous post and I can't put too much products in one post since I talk too much - yet there are a lot of things to say too though. Today I would like to review on the first product, which is a toner or officially called Nutox Oxyfusion Skin Refining Astringent. I still own the bottle since I got it for free too and it is in small size thus I'll be reusing the bottle for travelling purpose. Look how cheap I am. LOL. Here are the photos.

Direction of use and ingredients

I couldn't barely find their claims anywhere since I got the bottle for free (the 50ml size) so the simplified wordings on the back of the bottle. When I bought their range, that promoter lady said to me that this acts as a toner but milder. I read somewhere (thanks to Mr. Google) that astringent has less stinging feeling as compared to toner and it is lighter than toner. Basically I can say is that, it feels like fragrant water sprayed on my skin. LOL. But as the name says, it refines skin after wash.

Ingredients: Water, Witch Hazel (Hamamelis Virginiana) Extract, Propylene Glycol, Yeast Beta Glucan, Chlorphenensin, Polysorbate 20, Tetrasodium EDTA, Fradgrance, Glycerin, Swiftlet Nest Extract, Lactic Acid, Lecithin, Arbutin, Linolenic Acid, Linoleic Acid, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Rutin, Ubiquinone, Resveratrol, Methylisothiazolinone.

I have nothing much to say about this astringent because it doesn't do much on my skin. Sometimes when I forgot to use it, it does not give much of a difference. The good thing is that, it does not sting. I usually cannot tolerate much with alcohol in toner but it is much acceptable as their ingredients too does not contain alcohol. A plus for me. But when my skin started to flake due to the cleanser I mentioned from previous post, it does sting a bit. Everytime I use this, I will spray twice on my skin. It feels so fresh and the smell is not overpowering. Just light flowery scent. I pat my skin until it is fully absorbed then I continued with moisturizers. It is in a spray opaque white bottle. Its texture is water like and it sprays quite well - rather fine sprayer. I used this after I wash my face. The price is RM20 - RM25 of approximate 7 USD for 125ml. This 50ml bottle lasts for about a month or so.

My ratings:

Effectiveness: ★★★☆☆ (average)

Bottle: ★★★★★ (simple and nothing much to comment)

Price: ★★★☆☆ (first, I got it for free. Second, it is quite expensive for an astringent that doesn't do much)

Long term effect: ★★★☆☆ (I didn't repurchase it after I finished the bottle so I'm giving it an average)

Overall, I do recommend this astringent for those with sensitive skin as it is alcohol free and is suitable for all skin type. It doesn't do much but it helps prepping the skin for moisturizers.

My next review is on Nutox Oxyfusion Moisture Emulsion SPF 25++. I still have the bottle with me because I stopped using it. Its almost done actually but I just can't wait to try on my new moisturizer that I left this emulsion hanging. LOL. Here are the pictures:

Their claims

I actually don't have the box anymore. I bought this on promotion with their serum (which I will review on later post) for about RM90 on normal size - not the trial size. The actual price for this emulsion is RM40 for 50ml. As you can see from their claims on the bottle:

"Nutox Oxyfusion Moisture Emulsion SPF 25++, a breakthrough Moisturizing and Whitening formula, restores the skin's optimum moisture balance and works beneath the surface to whiten, reduce signs of aging and moisturize. Ultra light and easily absorbed, this emulsion provides intense hydration and improves skin's suppleness and texture, reviving your skin's natural smoothness. Suitable for all skin types. For day use."

Ingredients: nope I couldn't find it anywhere sorry!

This emulsion acts like a moisturizer for day as it has SPF 25++ but a little much lighter in texture. Often moisturizers are rather thick and heavy but this moisturizer is super light that when I pun it on my skin, it absorbs just in seconds. That's why I love it. It is also white in color. My classes often end in the evening and I never bring this along to reapply but it helps balancing out my sebum until the evening. It also makes my skin feels smooth and glowy though the moisturizing effect does not lasts longer. Basically it does almost all what they claimed. When I started to use the Radiance Cleansing Gel of this brand that caused my skin to get flaky and dry, this moisturizer can't help at all. I dabbed it more on the flaky area and by the time I reached class, the flaky area started to flakes. ZZZZ. So I assume that this moisturizer is not suitable for very dry skin but it is good enough for combination to oily skin like mine. It is paraben free (and yes all of their products are paraben free and halal). This bottle lasts for more than 3 months for me since I used once to twice daily - but I often used once a day. I never understand how can people finish a tube within a month. I tried dabbed thicker and use unwisely but I never get the chance to finish it up faster. Even if I used starter kit, it lasts me for more than a month. Is it a good thing or a bad thing? To me, it depends on the effectiveness of the product.

My ratings:

Effectiveness: ★★★★☆ (if only the moisturizing effect lasts longer)

Bottle: ★★★★★ (easy to use and hygienic since its a pump opaque white bottle)

Price: ★★★★☆ (it is rather expensive to me as a student but since it does what it claimed)

Long term effectiveness: ★★★★☆ ( I don't know if this category of rating is relevant for my reviews later since I no longer loyal to a certain product until I found the one that truly right for me, which in this case, I am very perfectionist)

Overall, I do recommend this emulsion since its very light and suitable for those with combination to oily skin like me. It also helps in improving my skin's texture and tone but not that significant. If you are already fair and want to give yourself a lighter radiant glow, this is right for you. If you tend to have dry skin, its recommended too but do reapply it once you feel that you need the boost. I hope these reviews help!

Regards
