REVIEW: Bio Essence Bird's Nest Nutri-Collagen & Whitening Essence

Hello everyone.

Today I will review on the last product in the Bio Essence Bird's Nest starter pack, the Bio Essence Bird's Nest Nutri-Collagen & Whitening Essence. I bought the starter pack in Watsons and it costs me RM17 for approximately 5 USD. The actual bottle of this essence costs RM56 to RM70 of approximately 20 USD for 30ml. I just finished the starter pack few days ago so here are the photos of the tube (the trial size).

The texture and color

I took the claims in their website so here are the claims:

Ingredients: Deionized Water, Lentinus Edodes Extract, Dimenthiconol, Glycerin Cyclopentasiloxane (and) Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Glyceryl Polymethacrylate, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Titanium Dioxide (and) Mica, Isodecane, Swiftlet Next Extract, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Acrylamide/Ammonium Acrylate Copolymer, Saccharomyces/Rice Kernal Ferment (and) Lithium Chloride (and) Potassium Oxide (and) Sodium Oxide (and) Aluminium Oxide (and) Ferric Chloride, Pomelo (Citrus grandis) Extract, White Tea (Camellia sinensis) Extract, Ginseng (Panax ginseng) Extract, Angelica archangelica Root, Ganoderma atrum Extract, Methylisothiazolinone, Fragrance, Allantoin, Acetyl Cysteine (and) Collagen Amino Acids, Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis) Extract

The texture is rather light and its white in color. It glides pretty well on the skin which eases application. The photo I posted looks rather thick but no, perhaps its just the fact that I didn't took the effort to spread it on my skin as that is the only essence left from the tube (I am afraid I did it wrongly and I got no more essence to show you guys LOL). The scent is flowery yet soothing scent that I actually love. The scent will disappear when it is fully absorbed. The trial size tube comes with a pointy cone shaped lid that I don't see the purpose but that is the reason why the essence on my finger looks rather nicely round. The actual tube is a tall tube with a pump and it is kinda pretty though, just like their advancer. This essence is pretty light so when I applied this on my skin, it absorbs rather quickly. I didn't use much, just as much as the picture shown and I can cover the surface of my face. I applied this after advancer (the advancer acts like a toner) and before I applied the sleeping mask (please refer to my previous posts for reviews on the other products in the same line). Actually, I can't really see what are the goodness it gave me because I never used this alone but it does makes my skin feels smooth right after application. Too bad after finishing the starter pack I didn't see any significant difference except that my skin glows a bit and a messed up sebum. I was disappointed that this line caused my sebum to be upside down (and break outs of course) but it is really good for those that have to deal with air conditioner everyday. This lasts for more than a month which I used this everyday before sleep, once a day.

My ratings:

Effectiveness: ★★★☆☆ (it is just okay to me and not the things I want to rave about)

Bottle: ★★★☆☆ (the trial size tube is not easy to get the essence out but the actual size is pretty good)

Price: ★★☆☆☆ (expensive and does not do much)

Long term effect: ★★★☆☆ (I did use this for quite sometime for the results to be significant but nope, no changes and I did not repurchase)

Overall, I do not recommend this product for those who are interested to increase the brightness and whiteness of their skin as it does not do much. It helps to moisturize the skin for those who needs extra moisturizing effect (especially for those with dry skin). It is not suitable for combination to oily skin like mine as it can cause excessive sebum and break outs. I used this when my skin tends to get a little dry than usual and it helps to reduce my flaky U-zone at times. But no, I did not see any wrinkles reduction nor reduction of visible acne scars. I am sorry but this line disappoints me. I hope this review helps!

Regards
